Hi, I'm Lauren.
About the Designer

A creative at heart, gathering inspiration from nature.

Hey there — I'm Lauren Atlas, the founder of Faded Green Design Studio in Matthews, NC.

I studied Interior Design at Purdue University, earning my Bachelor of Arts and LEED AP certification along the way — both reflecting a long-standing commitment to sustainable, considered design. Most recently, I became a Certified Immersion Pattern Designer, continuing to explore new creative paths.

My work lives at the intersection of interior design, pattern design, and original art — three threads I weave together to help homes feel quietly, beautifully like the people who live in them.

Our Story

How Faded Green came to be.

Something unexpectedly beautiful came from the chapter of my life when I chose to stay home and raise my kids.

Shortly after entering the residential world of interior design, I got married and started having kids. I chose to stay home and raise them — it had always been a dream of mine. But who knew something quietly beautiful would grow from that chapter?

When other moms found out I was an interior designer, the conversations never stopped. They needed quick, detailed, small-scale solutions and didn't know where to turn. Overwhelmed by choices, balancing family life, and not wanting to spend a fortune — I knew that feeling. My husband and I did everything in our own house ourselves.

I heard each of you. So Faded Green is the answer: a budget-friendly place where a creative professional will sit down with you for a color consultation, materials selection, or simply a walk-through full of ideas and what to prioritize first.

Already have a contractor you love? Perfect — I'll be the design support behind your project. Want custom wallpaper, fabric, or art? Whatever creative problem you're facing, no matter how small, Faded Green Design Studio is up for the challenge.

Creatively yours,
Faded Green
Grounded. Open-minded. Truthful.

From undefined to favorite room.

A vague, open space reimagined as a cozy library and office — built-in bookshelves paired with a recessed bench seat that hides storage inside. One thoughtful stroke gave the room warmth, character, and a real reason to gather.

In her words

Working with Lauren Atlas of Faded Green Design Studio felt like watching a room slowly discover its true purpose.

What started as a small to medium open space that felt vague and undefined has become one of my favorite spots in the house. It is now a cozy library and office that I genuinely look forward to spending time in every single day.

Lauren took my ideas and envisioned built in bookshelves paired with a beautiful recessed bench seat that includes hidden storage. In one thoughtful stroke, the room gained warmth, character, and real intention. Now my kids love curling up in the nook to chat, read, or simply hang out together, turning the space into a true family gathering spot. The bench nook has also become my dog's favorite place to nap while I work, which makes the room feel even more comforting and lived in.

It feels inviting and calm, the kind of room that quietly draws you in. You sit down thinking you will stay for just a little while, and before you know it, time has slipped away.

What I appreciated most was how naturally and collaboratively Lauren worked. She listened carefully, elevated my ideas, and blended beauty with practical function in every detail. The entire process felt easy, enjoyable, and surprisingly stress free.

I am truly grateful for her vision and creativity. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lauren to anyone looking to transform a space into something personal, functional, and deeply welcoming.

With much gratitude,

— Britney Bouldin
